Harare, Zimbabwe (Capital Markets in Africa):-The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index in the red region today and further lost 0.59 percent or 0.84 points to end at 141.38 points. The market capitalization ended at US$3.710 billion. On the week on week basis the Industrial index was down 2.20 points or 1.53%.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$2,453,804 exchanged in 15 traded securities via 34 trade transactions. Foreign investor buys US$12,359 and foreign sells zero today. Out of the 15 traded securities, African Distillers Limited recorded at US$7.021 exchanged in 14.014 traded securities and British-American Tobacco Zimbabwe recorded at US$5,452 exchanged in 470 traded stocks. Equally, Dawn Properties Limited with 42,327 shares valued at US$681 and Barclays Bank of Zimbabwe recorded 45,452 shares with total value of US$1,941.
From the market activities strength views, there were three price gainers, four price losers and 8 price remained unchanged, hence market strength ended negative. The price gainers was Dawn Properties Limited traded at US$0.0161 after adding 1.84 percent or U$0.0003, Old Mutual Plc added 0.60 percent or US$0.0167 to close at US$2.7741 and Seed Company Limited closed at US$1.0474 after gaining 0.35 percent or US$0.0037.
Conversely, Dawn Properties Limited was down by 1.81 percent or US$0.0172 to US$0.9300, OK ZIMBABWE shed US$0.0020 to settle at US$0.0800 and Fidelity Life Assurance Limited eased by 1.49 percent or US$0.0010 to end at US$0.0660. Barclays Bank of Zimbabwe closed at $0.0427 after losing $0.0003 or 0.69 percent.
On a final note, the Mining index remained unchanged to close at 39.36 points. BINDURA, FALGOLD, HWANGE and RIOZIM maintained previous price levels at $0.0300, $0.0060, $0.0410 and $0.1400 in that order.
